Semana 12: Un bebito saltarín (la 2da ecografía) / A jumpy baby (the 2nd scan)

No mancha, punto a favor.

Bebito, our tiny glowing being, it's growing... So there we went again, to Dr. Neil's clinic for the second scan.

Truly speaking, the first thing that surprised me was that the gel he put on my belly was warm. Warm! Such a level our kiwi clinic, please... they warm up the gel for me so I wouldn't make the "agh" and "ohh" sounds with the chilly sensation like in the movies. Now, that gel is diabolic. It slides everywhere and there's no way (there's no way, so don't spend too much time wrapping yourself in paper) that it doesn't mess up your clothes. It doesn't stain, one point for that. And mine was warm, medal of honor for Dr. Neil's clinic.

From darkness we went quickly to a head. Darkness, head, darkness, arm. Bebito started appearing until its complete image was formed. What an amazing change! Our tiny being, with a total extension of 7 centimeters and a life span of 12 weeks, already has arms and legs, it has a spine and feet. It's a mini person full of life. In fact, it didn't stop moving, it propelled with its little feet from the bottom of the uterus and it jumped, then it slid downwards like in a sledge. The doctor took a while in obtaining its measures, because he couldn't make it stay still and when he wanted it to rotate to one side, Bebito jumped and went the other way. It looked like it was playing! And it seemed happy in there...

My husband was checking the monitor with the doctor and then he looked at me. Suddenly he asks me why am I not looking to the monitor. "There's another t.v. there" I answer, pointing at the enormous screen on the wall at the other end of the room. "Ah..." he says back in relief. "What did you think? That I was imaging it?", I laughed and that made things even worse for the doctor because Bebito jumped again.
