Semana 11: Bebito tiene dedos / Bebito has fingers

Por supuesto que, como parte fundamental de un embarazo moderno en toda regla, tenés que bajarte una App en tu teléfono... Y yo no iba a ser la excepción. Así que intenté buscar aquella que me contara la menor cantidad de cosas médicas posibles (sobre todo las del estilo "1 de cada 18.000 bebés desarrollan hermafroditismo en esta semana") y que me atosigara lo menos posible con todas las cosas que tengo que hacer y comprar antes de que nazca el bebé. 

Aunque todavía no logro que deje de avisarme dos veces cada vez que cumplo una semana nueva y no sé sacarle el sonido, estoy muy satisfecha con la de Hero Baby. Me tira dos o tres datos bobalicones por semana y algún consejo de salud sencillo, como comer más pescado blanco o salir a caminar, y yo me quedo tan feliz con mi casi completa ignorancia de lo que sucede dentro de mi útero. 

Aún así, hay cosas que no dejan de impresionarme... Parece que esta semana Bebito está desarrollando sus manos y ya tiene dedos. ¡Dedos! Los dedos no deberían asustar a nadie pero no puedo dejar de pensar que son una inconfundible característica humana (quizás compartida con los primates, pero es todo lo mismo). Dedos que se mueven adentro de mi panza. Una manito humana. Algunas veces me pregunto en qué están pensando los que apoyan el aborto... o mejor dicho, en qué no quieren pensar.

Of course that, as a fundamental part of a modern pregnancy, you have to download an App in your phone… And I wasn’t going to be the exception. So I tried to look for one that told me the least amount of medical stuff possible (specially those in the area of “1 out of 18,000 babies develop hermaphroditism on this week”) and that bothered me the least possible with all the things I have to do and buy before the baby is born.

Even though I still can’t stop it from telling me twice each time I enter a new week and I don’t know how to turn the sound off, I’m very pleased with the one from Hero Baby. It gives me two or three silly facts per week and some easy health tip, like to eat more white fish or to go for a walk, and I stay there so happy in my almost complete ignorance of what’s going on inside my uterus.

Still, there are things that don’t cease to amaze me… It looks like this week Bebito is developing its hands and it already has fingers. Fingers! Fingers shouldn’t scare anybody but I can’t stop thinking they are an unmistakable human characteristic (maybe shared with primates, but that’s all the same). Fingers that move inside my belly. A human little hand. Sometimes I wonder what are abortion supporters thinking… or, better said, what are they not thinking.
